UPDATE:

23rd Jan

10am: Meeting outside The Criterion Theatre for a 2 hour Sherlock Holmes Walk with Brit Movie Tours (http://britmovietours.com/bookings/sherlock-holmes-london-tour/). Ends outside Somerset House on The Strand.

12:30pm: Pub Lunch at the The Ship and Shovel, near Charring Cross station. If you haven't already emailed me your lunch order, please do from this link: http://shipandshovell.co.uk/

2:30pm The Huntarian Museum. Entry is technically free, but a donation of £3 is encouraged, which I think we should do.

For those of you with slightly more "nervous dispositions", this year the Museum of London has an exhibition on Crime, which seems like a good alternative if you'd like to do something different. You could meet up with us afterwards.

Or if neither of these options appeal, perhaps a visit to Baker Street or Speedy's, and meet us later?

5:30pm/6pm: Dinner, at Nando's (9-10 Southampton Place, WC1A 2EA) to avoid a 'Splitting The Bill Fiasco'.

24th Jan

12 noon Pub lunch at The Finery, 23 Great Castle Street, London W1G 0JA (Same place as last year),and an afternoon spent chatting and quizzing, and drinking if you fancy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello all! It's that time of year again!

For the last 5 years Sherlockians/Holmesians have come together to celebrate the weekend that Holmes and Watson met. And I have the feeling this year it's going to be a little "special" and we'll all have a lot to say...

Can all who would like to come please email me at louiseamelia.tolton@gmail.com, with SHAM 2016 in the subject line, to let me know which bits you're going to be coming to. (Preferably ASAP, so then I can confirm numbers with bookings). IF YOU DO NOT LET ME KNOW YOU'RE COMING, YOU WON'T BE INCLUDED IN BOOKINGS.

The current plan is listed out below, though exact details (definite times and places for meeting) will be confirmed in the next couple of days when I've confirmed numbers with various bookings.

23rd Jan

11am: A Sherlock Holmes Walk with (hopefully) the lovely Richard IV! It should cost around £7. If Richard IV can't make it, we'd be doing the same walk again. I recognise that for some that's getting a bit repetative, so an alternative plan/walk may appear in the next couple of days.

1pm: Pub Lunch at the The Ship and Shovel, near Charring Cross station.

Afternoon Traditionally we've headed to a museum of some kind, and I'm thinking that perhaps a visit to the Huntarian Museum is in order. Please tell me if you're coming, as this requires a group booking.

7pm: Dinner, at Nando's (most likely Holborn, but again, awaiting numbers) to avoid the usual 'Paying The Bill Fiasco'.

24th Jan

12 noon Pub lunch at The Finery, 23 Great Castle Street, London W1G 0JA (Same place as last year),and an afternoon spent chatting and quizzing, and drinking if you fancy.

Once you email to let me know you're coming, I'll send you paypal details for the walk. Also, people are often willing to offer up places to stay overnight, if you're stuck for somewhere check in the comments!

Look forward to seeing you all then!

SHPicnic 2015

The Fifth Annual Sherlock Holmes Picnic is almost upon us, and this year we will be celebrating the Sherlympics. Fangirl will be pitted against fangirl as we endeavour to find the Ultimate Champion Of Sherlockian Athletics. The Games are on!

We will also be running the usual Sherlockian Food Competition, so get your chef’s hats on!

We will be meeting at the bandstand at Regent’s Park at 12, running games from roughly 2pm until 5pm, and then retiring to the Metropolitan pub for drinks, laughter and more food. Hell yeah.

If you’re coming along, please sign up at our Doodle poll: http://doodle.com/w5h5h9dsg82q7578

If you're interested, just write here or send a private message, if there is at least a few people who are interested, I'll look for a place for it :)

Date Announcement for the SHPicnic

Hello all! It's that time of year again!

For the last 4 years Sherlockians/Holmesians have come together to celebrate the weekend that Holmes and Watson met.

Can all who would like to come please email me at louiseamelia.tolton@gmail.com, to let me know which bits you're going to be coming it. (Preferably ASAP, so then I can confirm numbers with bookings)

The current plan is listed out below, though exact details (definite times and places for meeting) will be confirmed in the next couple of days when I've had confirmation from various bookings.

24th Jan

11am: A Sherlock Holmes Walk with (hopefully) the lovely Richard IV! It should cost around £7.
1pm: Pub Lunch
Afternoon Traditionally we've headed to a museum of some kind, and this year the Wellcome Collection has an exhibit on called the 'Institute of Sexology'.  It's a facinating exhibiton about the study of sex throughout history, which has had great reviews, with some really bizarre artifacts, and I think it probably epitomises Sherlock's attitude towards the whole affair... Best of all, it's free!
I had originally thought that maybe we could go to the Museum of London's Sherlock Holmes exhibit, but as you need to make group bookings and pay entry fees, I thought that this may end up complicating things.  (Plus, it's likely that a lot of you might have been already!) If there's a group, maybe in the comments, who fancy going to that instead, then feel free to organise your bookings and then meet us later.
Or if neither of these options appeal,
perhaps visiting Baker Street or Speedy's, and meet us later?
7pm: Dinner, most likely at Nando's to avoid the usual 'Paying The Bill Fiasco'.

25th Jan

12 noon Pub lunch and an afternoon spent chatting and quizzing, and drinking if you fancy.

I'll be setting up a paypal when all is confirmed, to collect the money for the walk.  Also, people are often willing to offer up places to stay overnight, if you're stuck for somewhere check in the comments!

Look forward to seeing you all then!

Hi,

I'm in the process thinking about trying about putting together a list of people who cosplay BBC Sherlock characters. It would be lovely, when other cosplayers are doing their stuff, and need a missing character, to have someone they could go to to fill the hole.

Anyone interested in a Chicago meetup?

Hey Guys,

I wanted to get a group of Chicago (and burbs of course) fans together to marathon Series 3. I was hoping to do this the day the final episode airs & premiere it with the group. But, I realize it's short notice. So, whatever date works for people interested is fine.

Unfortunately, my place is not available anytime soon for guests. So, some wonderful person could volunteer their place OR we could all pitch in for a hotel. Hotel parties are always a good time. Anyway, just some ideas.

First, I need to see if anyone is interested.
Spread the word & please leave a comment. :)

Come one, come all, and celebrate SERIES THREE!

NB: GREEN PARK NORTH EXIT IS THE MEETING POINT FOR THE WALK!

Hello all!

For the last three years Sherlockians/Holmesians have come together to celebrate the weekend that Holmes and Watson met. morelindo has been at the helm of the last two, however (after providing a helping hand last year) this year the baton has been passed on to me.

Can all who would like to come please fill out this form, confirming me know which bits you're going to be coming it. If any of you need to contact me, email louiseamelia.tolton@gmail.com or message me on here!

The current plan (Not 100% confirmed yet, subject to change over the next 3 days, so best to wait until then to confirm):

25th Jan

11am: A Sherlock Holmes Walk with the lovely Richard IV. Can't say yet where to meet as we're having a personalised tour just for us! It will cost around £7.
1pm: Pub Lunch
Afternoon There are two exhibitions on at the Science Museum which seem very appropriate for Sherlock. One is free, all about the brain and called Mind Maps: Stories from Psychology. The other must be booked (so you'll need to confirm if you want me to book it for you) is called Only in England, contains photos showing the eccentricities of England, and costs £8 or £5 for students/concessions. You can do one, the other, both or none at all of the exhibitions. Those who don't fancy the Science museum can make their own plans, perhaps visiting Baker Street or Speedy's, and meet us later.
7pm: Dinner at Nando's (Likely either Gloucester Road or High Street Kensington) to avoid the usual 'Paying The Bill Fiasco'.

26th Jan

12 noon Pub lunch and an afternoon spent chatting, quizzing, enthusing over Series 3 and drinking if you fancy.

I'll be setting up a paypal when all is confirmed to collect the various monies.  Also, people are often willing to offer up places to stay overnight, if you're stuck for somewhere check in the comments!

Look forward to seeing you all then!
